This is a Lower Gearcase Assembly for OMC Stringer Models: 3.8L/229 CID GM V6 (1981-1985); 4.3L/262 CID GM V6 (1985); 5.0L/305 CID GM V8 (1978-1985); 5.7L/350 GM V8 (1978-1985); 5.8L/351 CID Ford V8 (1978-1979). It is made of Casting Aluminum Alloy A356T5. This lower housing will not replace the 1978-1980 OMC lower housings with hydraulic shift. This item replaces OMC # 438050.
