Stevens Thermomelt Temp Stiks, 163°F Long lasting Temp Stiks provide a quick and reliable means to check cooling systems. With engine warmed up, the temp stik is used like a crayon to make a mark on the head or block. The mark will appear dull and chalky. On a typical engine, the CDI-T125 (125°) should melt, turning liquid and glossy in appearance. If it does not, the engine is running too cold. A mark made with the CDI-T163 (163°) should not melt. If it does, the engine is running too hot.
